Massage Therapy & Personal Training Open Class Night

Are you interested in a new career in the health and wellness professions? Join us for an Open Class Night in both Massage and Personal Fitness Training. Sit in on a class, meet the Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, and ask any questions you have about the LHAA Training programs. Both programs provide extensive hands on experience, and work with students to guide them not only in their education but also towards a successful career.
The class and Q & A is 6:30-7:30 PM. Afterwards, join current students for a mix and mingle.

Yoga Teacher Training-Open Class Night

Join us for a night of information and activity to explore the Lexington Healing Arts Academy’s (LHAA) Yoga Teacher Training certification program, Thursday, August 26 at 6:00 PM. The Director of the program, Amanda McMaine, will guide you through the intentions and structure of the course and answer any and all questions. During the session you will interact to experience both restorative and active poses and see how the breath influences movement.
This program provides a solid foundation in becoming a well-informed and safe Yoga teacher, as well as providing students the knowledge on how to care for themselves through the practice of Yoga. Those already involved in the health or allied health fields will gain insight on how to share the benefits of Yoga to assist in the well being of their clients.
The LHAA Yoga Teacher Training program is a 200 hour Yoga Alliance registered course. The class begins October 23, 2010 and classes are held one weekend per month through October of 2011.

Pregnancy, birth and motherhood are a life changing and intense journey. Staying healthy during this transition by gaining awareness and support helps us to love and care for our new baby and ourselves with more ease and confidence.
This workshop will help you learn coping skills effective for the early days of motherhood, how to regain physical health and strength following birth, recognize the signs of post partum depression and anxiety, connect with other women and realize you are not alone.
This workshop is recommended for Moms in the last trimester through the first post partum year.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction is an 8-week intensive program designed to transform the way you relate to stress. Through the practice of cultivating awareness and relaxation, you will learn ways to mobilize your inner resources for coping and healing.
Our program is based on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. MBSR is highly regarded for making mindfulness meditation accessible for people from all walks of life. Scientific studies have shown the MBSR program to decrease psychological and physical pain and discomfort and improve the overall quality of life for participants.
